About The Warby Parker Contest
When was the last time you played with your music?
We first heard about Beck’s Song Reader from our longtime friends at McSweeney's, who published the book. Our curiosity was sparked: Beck’s artistry combined with infinite interpretative possibilities? Tell us more, please!
We’re endlessly pleased, then, to share a brand-new partnership with the Song Reader project. Better yet: it involves you, reader.
Over the next week, please submit your renditions of “Sorry” via YouTube or SoundCloud for a chance to win a trip for two to L.A., complete with a stay at The Standard and tickets to Beck’s Song Reader concert with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at Walt Disney Concert Hall on November 24. A panel of Warby Parker team members will judge the 10 submissions with the most likes, with the final winner chosen based upon criteria outlined in the terms and conditions.
The concert will proceed under the direction of revered composer/arranger David Campbell, Beck’s father, and it will feature the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Beck, special guests Jack Black, Jon Brion, Jarvis Cocker, Childish Gambino, Jonathan Gold, Juanes, Josh Kun, Jenny Lewis, Roger Manning, Jr., Fred Martin and the Levite Camp, Van Dyke Parks, Randall Poster, John C. Reilly, Moses Sumney, and more. Performers will take the stage with either musical interpretations of Beck’s Song Reader, or stories about how their lives have been affected by music.
